Happy Canada Day!!
Canada Day–Canada Day will be celebrated on today, July 1 across Canada. Canada Day was established in 1879 under the name Dominion Day and became Canada Day in 1982. This day encourages Canadians to celebrate our country and to display patriotic pride. Celebrations on Parliament Hill will start at 9:45 a.m. with the flag-raising ceremony and the last event “Canada Evening Show” will take place at 9 p.m. Governor General Adrienne Clarkson, Prime Minister Jean Chrétien and Minister of Canadian Heritage Sheila Copps will also join thousands of Canadians to celebrate these ceremonies.
